FREE FORMS of ARTS or JUST MUSIC is an active community of artists (musicians, dancers; poets and visual artists) from many European countries – Austria, France, England, Hungary, Holland, Italy, Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Taiwan, Croatia and many more….
The creative meetings have been taking place in different countries for many years. There are monthly concert meetings in some cities, festivals and workshops (“laboratories”) in Austria, but now and then also in Poland, Slovenia and Italy. Vienna and the organizers of Limmitationes (Emil Gross and Udo Preis) can be seen as a kind of center.
Since the 1960s, thanks to artists such as Derek Bailey, Paul Rogers, Nina de Heney, Maggie Nicols, Axel Dõrner, Paul Lovens, Evan Parker, Gail Brand, Paul Dunmall and many others, an improvised musical “style” has developed that is clearly distinct from all kinds of jazz and free jazz as well as from the avant-garde movements of the time.
The type of work, which cannot be clearly categorized, is as diverse as the number of artists who, due to their complex artistic knowledge and virtuosity, can and above all want to enter into this open communication between themselves and the audience present.
