I deal with various approaches to improvisation, intermediality and projects on the border between jazz and contemporary classical music as a performer (saxophonist, bass clarinetist), teacher (Janáček Academy of Performing Arts) and composer.
As both an improviser and a composer, I like to work with chance and unpredictability.
I am interested in the creation of a musical structure from non-musical sounds, the possibility of combining field recordings with composition and improvisation, and the connection of tonal and non-tonal sounds.
I consider free improvisation to be a complex art. In the speech of improvisers, all knowledge, skills, experience and human character come together.
Quality improvisation requires a mature and creative artist who can suppress his ego, help create a collective work and who respects the aesthetics of the improvisational community. Improvising with such artists fills me with immense happiness.
