Sylvia Bruckner

is an internationally acclaimed pianist, working in the field of experimental contemporary music and improvisation. As she let her instincts drive her towards jazz, Sylvia Bruckner began as an autodidact, only to return to study jazz-piano later. During the process she found her soul in chamber New music, and only then had earned her second diploma in classical music. As lending a hand to musicians in ad hoc groupings, we find her playing in musical situations with big names, as much as the younger cats or dancers. Whether she would dust off the pianissimo, or make the instrument’s intestines sigh harsh glisses, there’s an agitation to create a palette. That something: very aural about the leaps left before the listeners. As if the water still boiled in the kettle, even after it was removed from the fire
