Vanessa Mattei Scapaccini

Vanessa Mattei Scarpaccini, born in 2004 in Italy, is a young artist who explores the gifts the body can offer to space, time, and their rhythm. She grew up in the countryside of Tuscany with a Polish mother and an Italian father, and from a very young age, she began exploring movement languages, with a primary focus on contemporary dance. Thanks to scholarships, she trained for short periods at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and, from 2021, at Opus Ballet Centro Coreografico in Florence, where she graduated in 2024. In 2024/2025, she joined the “Bluebox” program in Vienna and began participating in Free Forms meetings. She deepened her education through movement and artistic practice workshops in Salzburg, Berlin, Florence, Rome, Milan, Belgium, Barcelona, and Vienna.

Starting in 2025, she is working with Sosta Palmizi as an associated artist, developing her first creation, “Vanessa Io,” a solo project primarily focused on themes of space, memory, and resonance.

In her early career as a dancer, she has collaborated with musicians and art galleries, beginning to develop an approach based on the “state” as the starting point of every act of care that the body can manage. Through an extremely available body that unfolds in time and space, she dances.
