Vienna 2012-2024. The journey through the venues.
- 2012 Celeste. This was the beginning of the monthly meetings, which we kept consistently until the beginning of the corona crisis (including breaks in summer).
- 2014-2015 Mankentsi. From Celeste we moved to the private rooms of Emil Gross and Moni al Shati at Mankentsi.
- 2015 Brunnenpassage. For a short time the Free Forms went to the Brunnenpassage at Brunnenmarkt.
- 2015 Au. In autumn 2015 we moved to the underground Au. Emil Gross wrote an article for the Auzine, a book/fanzine that describes this extraordinary place in detail.
- 2019 KIP. In 2019 we moved to the “KIP” in the basement of Café Prückel. Interrupted by a fake pandemic, we were able to enjoy this location until November 2023.
- 2023 V.E.K.K.S. In December we organized the FREE FORMS OF ARTS at V.E.K.K.S. for the first time.
2024. We will show up every month (except July and August) in V.E.K.K.S.
JUST MUSIC
FREE FORMS in Vienna
JUST MUSIC has been the name of our meetings in vienna, which – based on the FREE FORMS OF ARTS/music/dance/painting/literature/visuals – took place monthly at the KIP theatre.
In december 2023 we moved to V.E.K.K.S.
FREE FORMS is what we call the “evolved” form of improvisation by artists whose creativity is based on a variety of genres of music, dance and visual arts. this may sound a little misleading and therefore you will find some thoughts on the FREE FORMS OF THE ARTS a little further down. it would also be better to listen to our limmitationes channel/youtube; these videos are exciting to listen to and yet: nothing can replace the live experience.
The regular meetings in vienna/at celestee/au/mankentsi/kip/vekks focus primarily on the free dialogue of free music, but are also decisively influenced by dancers and painters, and occasionally by poets.
On our FREE FORMS limmitationes CHANNEL @ youtube you can find 100s of videos and they give a comprehensive insight into this complex and wide-ranging creative form of dialogue between female musicians, dancers, painters, poets over the last 15 years and the development of the project.
